Considering the small size of Helsinki when compared to other European capitals, the dining scene in Helsinki is fantastic. The Hakaniemi-Kallio area, around beautiful Elaintarhanlahti Bay, is a good place to go for relatively cheap eating options. There are also a number of pubs and bars located around here, making it a good place to either start or finish a night out. It also offers a range of ethnic restaurants, and as such is a place to try different cuisines. The Kruununhaka area is quieter but also popular, and a number of restaurants have opened up here in the last few years. Katajanokka, located in the classy heart of Helsinki, offers expensive dining options.
